HELL HOLE
In this fourth outing of John Ceepak and his rookie sidekick, Danny Boyle, of the Sea Haven, N.J., police force, they look into the apparent suicide of an Iraqi war vet whose body is discovered in a men's room at a Garden State Parkway rest stop.
(Metuchen folks:  look for the sign celebrating "The Gudorps 25th Anniversary" at the Holiday Inn -- a little late, but what the heck)
Oh, and while I'm there, if anybody needs a copy of THE CROSSROADS signed, I'll be happy to do it!   I will even bring my own pen.

Our Three Bible Study Opportunities

 The Sunday morning Bible Study
Meets from about 8:45 till 9:30 in the Fryer Room of our Parish Hall, to read together whole books of Scripture, comparing different translations. We are reading and discussing the Psalms.
Usually led by Richard Quaintance and helped by coffee or tea and pastries.

Wednesday Healing Service and Bible Study
Follows the 10am Healing Service (in the Family Chapel); runs from about 11am to noon in the Fryer Room, with coffee, tea and fellowship, where we consider together the Scripture readings for the following Sunday: What questions do they raise, what light do they throw on each other? Richard Q., Rev. Barbara Crafton, and/or Rev. Jonathan Percival are leading this group. Welcome aboard!

 Sunday Evening Bible Study Group
Meets from 6pm to 7pm in the Fryer Room
. We have shared and read and are deciphering the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas recovered a few decades ago.
Richard Quaintance is leading this group.

In the past, this Study Group discussed a fascinating weekly radio interview-program named "Speaking of Faith", hosted by Krista Tippet. She engages in stimulating discussions on a wide variety of spiritual issues, with folks with fresh experience in:
Palestinian and Israeli perspectives on the current stand-off
Evangelism and the Pentecostal movement here today
        A military Chaplaincy in Iraq
        Teaching evolution
        Zen Buddhism
Faith and our Environment . . . etc., for an hour's focus on one such topic each week.

Krista Tippet is a spirited, probing interviewer, and has a website with great background material. To sample her touch, try National Public Radio's
Saturdays at 3 pm on AM 820, or
Sundays at 10 pm on AM 820, or
Saturdays at 7 am on FM 93.9.
You will surely find each week's program to be very worthwhile.

Group discussions are very informal and the usual facilitators are Jonathan Percival, Richard Quaintance, and Barbara Crafton. All are welcome to participate at any time in any of our groups.
